Apple’s already trying to get Samsung products yanked off shelves for infringing upon its right to manufacture black rectangles – and now they’re going after HTC for the same thing. For the second time.
Cupertino’s latest attempt to derail HTC’s gadget game is launched before the last complaint to the US International Trade Commission has even been heard. Grievances on grievances on grievances, baby! HTC, of course, has its own outstanding complaint against Apple pending review by the ITC. So basically, we’re very close to the point at which every smartphone and tablet manufacturer will be suing every other smartphone and tablet manufacturer. [SF Gate via Engadget]

Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 8:44 AMThis whole patent thing is out of control and the US Government should now step in and stop this stupid crap, I think with Apple it’s just ego but that’s just my opinion.

Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 10:17 AMI’ve been thinking. . . couldn’t what Apple is doing, using their patents to effectively stop supply of all its major competitors be considered anticompetitive? Couldn’t someone come down hard on Apple for this?

Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 8:59 AMI don’t think its so much everyone manufacturer suing everyone else rather than Apple suing everyone else and in turn everyone else suing Apple.

Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 10:00 AMAll apple cares about is control of their products and how much money they can get for them. They feel the pressure of losing market share, its only time when their competitors catch up with quality. Why buy an apple if you have to jailbreak it? And they have too much control, Apple will turn off you camera by IR in concerts, do you want to give apple that much control over your life?
It’s funny like Adam and Eve when eve took a bite out of the apple, it looks like “Apples” logo, wanting to be like God. That explains it. Apple has a God complex :)

Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 10:27 AMAnd yet another reason for my list of “Reasons I will do my best to boycott Apple”. These jerks need to spend less money on litigating and being flashy and more on developing the innards of their devices. All this crap wouldn’t be necessary if they’d just make a product that would sell itself instead of spending HUNDREDS of MILLIONS on advertising and suing the pants of their competition.

Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 11:12 AMMy guess, their plan is to sue anyone that has anything similar to any of their devices, thus eliminating the competition
