The slapping match between electronic giants (and major rivals) Apple and Samsung took another jump upward, with the former filing suit against the latter to execute an import ban. This would take Samsung products off shelves – a major defeat.
It’d be a temporary defeat – only yanking the Galaxy S 4G, Infuse 4G, Droid Charge and Galaxy Tab 10.1 until the patent scuffle between the two companies is resolved – but an enormous one nonetheless. Luckily for Samsung, the complaint won’t be heard by the US International Trade Commission until over a year from now. Time to pop some corn! [Bloomberg]

Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 9:38 AMIf this had’ve been Samsung levelling the same at Apple I imagine a million fanbois would’ve commented by now. This is a pretty ridiculous suit if you ask me, my opinion is this was Apple’s goal the whole time: to hinder sales while the product is marketable.

Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 10:45 AMWell, they still have a year to make some money before the case is even heard. That should be ample time to sell this Gen phone. By next year the next gen phone will come out.

Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 1:19 PMApple will rot like all fruit eventually. People look at them through rose colored glasses, but it is a ruthless and greedy company that uses sublime marketing and superstar attorneys to manage their image. They’re much of the same as any of the big multinationals when you peel back the layers.

Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 1:30 PMApple are just afraid of a little competition.
What do you do when someone brings out a superior product?
A) bring out a product with even more impressive specs/ better price.
B)Attempt to have the competitions product banned and continue slowly dripping new features to the sheep

Sunday, July 10, 2011 at 8:02 AM2-3 years? I’m pretty sure my nokia n95 (march 2007 release) had a 5megapixel camera and could play back any movie or music I put on it in it’s removable memory card.
