Mere weeks after NVIDIA claimed to have the fastest GPU on the market, AMD is now claiming supremacy with its Radeon HD 6990M graphics card, despite having a lower clockspeed by over 500MHz.
According to Laptop Mag, The Radeon HD 6990M has a 1.7 billion transistors, 700MHz processor, 2GB DDR5 RAM, and has support for Direct X 11 and dual-card crossfire configurations. In a head-to-head battle with the NVIDIA GTX 580M, the Radeon 6990M performed better on 3D Mark by 20 per cent. [Laptop Magazine]
