Voice Search, Search By Image Coming To Google Desktop

The Grand Poobah is taking two arse-kicking steps forward in desktop search. Google just announced that they are bringing voice search and image search to their desktop client.

Google Desktop – the basic interface you use when you visit google.com – getting voice search is pretty cool on its own, but the new feature will also perform live translations. As for search by image, you will be able to drag an image into the search bar, and Google will provide canonical information about it. For example, if you drag an image of a business’s logo, you’ll get information about the company. No word on how accurately it will identify mobile phone dong pics.
