Jean Weber—the daughter of the 95-year-old woman in question—has already filed a complaint with the Department of Homeland Security against the TSA agents at the Northwest Florida Regional Airport who conducted the search, which went something like this:
She said her mother was first pulled aside into a glass-partitioned area and patted down. Then she was taken to another room to protect her privacy during a more extensive search, Weber said.
Weber said she sat outside the room during the search.
She said security personnel then came out and told her they would need for her mother to remove her Depends diaper because it was soiled and was impeding their search.
Weber wheeled her mother into a bathroom, removed her diaper and returned. Her mother did not have another clean diaper with her, Weber said.
Citing “privacy” concerns, ha, TSA spokesfolks won’t comment on the particulars of this incident, but assert that “the procedures are the same for everyone to ensure national security.” But this can’t be true, because if it was, we’d hear stories like this one more often. It’s better if we don’t, though.

Monday, June 27, 2011 at 10:01 AMWhere is the common sense? what is wrong with the TSA? did they actually think that a sick 95 year old woman in a wheel chair is a terrorist?
I found a site where people can complain bout things like this airlineslodgingetc.com

Monday, June 27, 2011 at 10:05 AMAt first i thought that the TSA agents were just a bunch of dicks who loved power – now i realise that they too think that the amount of security we have is crazy and are going to do more and more insane activities until the public get up in arms about it and change it!

Monday, June 27, 2011 at 12:22 PMShe could have whipped out a 9mm from that adult diaper and gone on a rampage! We gotta protect ourselves!

Monday, June 27, 2011 at 1:49 PMThe idea of terrorism is to instill fear. An elderly lady in a wheelchair is just funny, regardless of casaulties.

Monday, June 27, 2011 at 2:10 PMWe as westerners have imposed more restrictions on our ‘way of life’ than any terrorist ever could.

Monday, June 27, 2011 at 5:29 PMTerrorists have accomplisher their goals, Western societies have given up from freedom and ability to trust each other even in the simplest things.
Anyway, in this case, the 95-year old woman would not have to be the terrorist, someone could use her. But this is just harsh rational thinking. How far do we want to go to protect ourselves?

Monday, June 27, 2011 at 5:33 PMthat’s really really thorough. If they’re gonna go that far, then the sky’s the limit.

Monday, June 27, 2011 at 5:36 PMNot to say this isn’t excessive (it is), but I doubt they’d have done it if they didn’t (stupidly) genuinely think there was a risk.
I don’t think the TSA enjoys taking off adult diapers anymore than you do. I did that sorta thing during a medical placement at an aged care facility and that shit is funky.

Don’t make me fly to chile and drive up from there just to bypass this compulsory sexual assault, because I’ll do it.
