What wrenching does not fix whacking often will. With a recessed wheel mechanism and striking-plate facing, this Manganese phosphate-coated adjustable wrench from Gedore will let you wail away on sticky, rusted-in bolts (and zombie skulls) with impunity.
The handle too features a recessed grip face to maintain your grip regardless of how greasy (and/or bloody) your hands are. It’s available for $US40 starting June 27.

Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 2:15 PMFinally, I’ve been looking for an excuse to throw away my hammer. At $40, this wrench should be the ticket.

Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 3:37 PMSorry, but if you use it regularly as an actual hammer I guarantee the shifter will become loose, thus turning it into a knuckle duster…:]

Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 4:22 PMDon’t scaffolders use a variation of this actually called a shammer?
Im not sure id trust the fine tuning of the adjusting worm after beating the tool on objects…
Although you should not really be using a shifting spanner for most nuts anyway :/

Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 10:31 PMIt would be nice if the article actually correctly stated the use of the tool… It’s not to be used AS a hammer but rather to allow you to gently strike it WITH a hammer to loosen nuts. Why the hell would you make a shifter a hammer too?
