Samsung Galaxy S II Pre-Sale Details On Voda Announced

Gizmodo AU

The Galaxy S II is probably the hottest phone out there at the moment, and while we’ve already heard about Optus and Telstra’s plans for the handset, Voda were unnaturally quiet. Until yesterday when the telco announced its new pricing and pre-order offer.

Essentially, the phone will hit stores in July, except for the customers who pre-order before June 9, who will start to receive the phone from the end of this month. Those pre-order customers will also receive a free Samsung leather case and a $50 bonus bill credit.

The phone itself will cost $10 a month on a $45 Infinite plan or $0 on a $65 Infinite plan.

It’s almost uncommon to see phones cross all three carriers like this at roughly the same time – Does any offer from any carrier convince you to change telcos?

Sure does, I was with Vodafail but wanted this phone so I paid out the rest of my contract and jumped ship to Optus. I don’t see the point in having a smart phone running on Voda’s crap network where internet access is almost non-existent.

I have my phone now and it runs like a dream.

Ah Vodafone? Yeah, never again. I’m with them now and their coverage and internet access is pathetic. Love my HTC Legend, shame it’s with them.

c’mon telstra – I’m over my contract with vodafail and I’m not going to optus – I need this phone so that I don’t have to reboot my $999 blackberry every 4 hours so that it can connect to the network again.

Just got off the phone with Vodafone. Other Voda plans available in July with next shipment. This phone will also be available on 3 at the same time (with July shipment) and also available with loyalty upgrade plans.

@Drew… you jumped too soon, Vodafone’s network has just been upgraded massively and now you’re on the optus network. I do understand how it WAS though.

Vodafone have now moved all iphone customers off the main 3g network (which is why it was bogged down), and now everyone’s going to be super happy (especially android users who now don’t have to put up with the archaic iphone traffic hog)

S Kumar.. I updated my blackberry 9700 to OS6 and it works beautifully (on 3 – which is 3/Telstra), but can’t wait to get my SGSii. Just upgrade using the software from the website.

Actually, I thought 3 was Voda, not Telstra!?
Pretty sure, but I may be wrong.
      It’s happened once before! :-)

I just told VHA I was going to jump ship with 12 months left on my contract, and 12 x $10 per month left on my x10 handset…

They waived everything, and have started a new 24 month $49 contract with $5 per month for the SGS2

so that $120 left on my x10 is now paying for my SGS2, so it’s as good as free!
