This video is awesome. At first he seems puzzled by the iPad the way my grandmother still refuses to use the microwave we bought her. But then the Holy See hits the supersize publish button to send the tweet out to the internets.
You won’t be able to direct message the pontiff anytime soon, though. The News.va site he refers to (also the account he tweeted from) is the Vatican’s new information and press online presence.
So yep…It’s the Pope. With an iPad. On Twitter. Jesus.

This is Apple’s real strength though- it’s good mass consumer level tech, so much so that even much older people don’t have too much trouble with it.
Android all the way for me, but if any of my grandparents were still alive, it’s Apple stuff that I’d get them for sure.

Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 2:59 AMJobs is a Buddhist? Hey something he surely fails at, the guy practically seethes a barely contained temper, and based on how he apparently flies off the handle at his employees… Yeah calm, understanding and enlightened don’t seem his thing. Then again he’s basically the father of the modern “hipster” maybe he’s that kind of Buddhist.

Five Precepts of Buddhism:
1. To refrain from taking life
2. To refrain from theft
3. To refrain from sensual (including sexual) misconduct
4. To refrain from lying (speaking truth always)
5. To refrain from intoxicants which lead to loss of mindfulness (specifically, drugs and alcohol)
3 out of 5 ain’t bad I guess, but Stevie would certainly have trouble with those last 2.

Sunday, July 3, 2011 at 12:10 PMJust because someone says he is a Buddhist doesn’t mean he has suddenly, and amazingly, become subdued and without emotions and feelings and the expressions they trigger. Someone who is following the teachings of the Buddha only recognises or becomes more aware of his/her own neurotic tendencies and then the real practice is to make every effort to overcome these unwholesome states every moment of our life. This is where the real focus should be to a Buddhist. Sometimes we win but mostly we lose. But one who truly understands the Dhamma never gives up.
