The merry team at ChevronWP7 Labs just announced that, in collaboration with Microsoft, they’ll be unlocking Windows phones for a small fee. This creates a wholly legitimate route for developers to access WP7 users. Apple could learn something here.

Monday, June 20, 2011 at 11:52 AMLose revenue? Legitimate jailbreaking without voiding warranty? Probably having a jailbroken market, which they get revenue from? It’s gaining revenue, and might be the tipping point some Android users to switch.

Monday, June 20, 2011 at 1:10 PMThis statement has just confirmed for me that my next phone (in another 16 months) will be a Windows phone.
Microsoft is not making any bad decisions here, they will be the phone of choice in the next year or two.
From here on out they need to ensure that they update the OS regularly and push it out themselves, don’t let the carriers get in the way.
They also need to make sure that carriers are not allowed to skin the devices themselves.

Monday, June 20, 2011 at 1:52 PMI’ve had one since November.
I enjoy lots of things about it… but the fact that it hasn’t synced to hotmail / live for five months is not one of them.
It seems to be a common problem (error:800c0069), and Microsoft hasn’t at least attempted to patch it yet.

Monday, June 20, 2011 at 6:07 PMwith no support for MS Myphone, and the cancellation of Myphone running on wm6.5 Microsoft has not made it easy for me to upgrade to a WM7 device. Therefore i’m forced to move to Android.
