LG Offering Fairfax News Through Smart TV Sets

If you like the idea of using your television to get your daily newspaper, LG has announced that it is partnering with Fairfax to offer localised news services via its Smart TVs.

It’s not clear whether the content will all be text based or if Fairfax’s autoplay videos will also play a part.

The TV company has also announced a partnership with SBS to deliver a dedicated Tour de France app on its televisions, allowing you to stream the race directly to your television live.

Obviously, more localised apps are always welcome, but are either of these offerings considered “killer” enough to sway your purchasing decision?
