I have a mate who has the falcon, death star, star destroyer, tie fighter and x-wing. They are not available retail – you purchase over the internet directly from LEGO Denmark.

No doubt he will get this one too and like the others I will borrow at some point for the fun/frustration of building and admiring for a while…

I looked into getting the Star Destroyer a while back, and yes, while you can only get it from their online store, they still screw you over by forcing you to pay in AUD at a huge mark up. I even enquired about paying in USD at their USD price, but they said that they don’t allow that.

Well, I guess that’s several hundred dollars saved and not in their pocket.

They’re referring to the UCS Falcon, the 5200+ piece set that retailed at $1000 AUD RRP, but could be found for as little as $750 if you were lucky.

This will probably cost even more due to lego inflation.

Wrong Falcon, this -> http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=10179-1 is the Falcon he’s referring too. I’ve got the AT-ST from that series.
Also while stuff in the 10xxx’s are suppose to be exclusive to the lego webstore you can occasionally find them at retailers.

Who told you this? I have all of those minus the Tie Interceptor (I was rather poor at the time), but all of them were available at retail at some stage. Your friend isn’t being entirely truthful.

Nah, these are from the exclusive collector’s series (not usually available retail).

The Falcom is 5500 pieces, the death star is 3,500 pcs the star destroyer is 1,500 pce, etc…

I know. The UCS (ultimate collector series) are what I’m referring too. I have the lot of them (minus Tie Interceptor).

They all came out in retail, check your facts. The Falcon alone I picked up at Kmart for $750 AUD.

Huh? Only available online? Wrong. Your friend is either grandstanding or a poorly informed consumer. My Death Star II UCS came from an Australian wholesaler (also sold at my local Toy Kingdom), with Millennium Falcon and Y-Wing purchased from Kmart. Imperial Flagship currently at Big W.

Man, when I was little they didn’t have Star Wars lego.

But I still made an X-Wing with moving S-foils. Out of standard Lego! Yeah. That’s right.

This would be ridiculously awesome if it was to scale. The Star Wars characters, Darth Vader, for instance, would look like giants in comparison to this. I know it would make it beyond huge if the really did that, but imagine the potential for awesome. Or, if you could remove half of it to show a cutaway of the insides, which could actually be populated due to it being in scale. If it’s like the other Star Wars ships however, it’s going to be mainly hollow inside.

Dude, I think at lego man scale, it would still be the size of a football field. Think about it, the Deathstar is the size of a small moon…

Yeah, but we’re not talking about the Death Star, right?
