When an Audi clips a Ferrari at 320km/h during a pass at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, this happens. The Audi driver, Alan McNish (seen above, mid-air), walked away from the crash. [The Daily]
its a little more than that… this is a testament to the safety features they have integrated into their designs. personally I think safety is overrated, especially after that marathon Canadian GP…
but hey! you can’t deny that when these guys put their minds to something, they get results!!
needless to say, you crash your sports car at 200mph the results will be much different.
The Ferrari driver turned into McNish as he was making his overtake move. He clipped the rear third of the Audi R18 and caused McNish to become a passenger from then on.
And you’d be stupid to think otherwise. This made the news because of how exceptionally lucky this guy was to walk away from this crash, even considering he was driving a car which had a ton more engineering go into it than your average car.

Monday, June 13, 2011 at 6:09 PMI’m pretty certain Mike Rockenfeller’s crash in the same race was even worse. His car was unrecognizable.
