That was quick. Following this morning’s post, Voda has officially released Gingerbread for Desire HD owners. It’s a staggered release apparently, but reports are coming in that it’s available.. [Voda]

Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 3:45 PMDoes upgrading firmware require backing up settings/files/contacts/messages/apps and what not? If so, is there a quick and easy way to ‘back up everything’, and the ‘restore everything’?

Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 4:05 PMI did it without backing up, but good luck finding anyone that will go on record as saying you don’t need to.
But you already have backups of your files/contacts/messages/apps and what not, right!?

Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 9:41 PMThe update has been rolling out for the last week…
I updated mine 3-4 days ago.
Oh and i didnt back up, my 32GB mirco SD then corrupted, and it took some very serious work in linux to recover (superblock died, backup died…)
My advice is back up, and update over wi-fi, had issues over mobile network.
