Facebook Finally Gets Its iPad App Ready

The New York Times is reporting that insiders briefed on Facebook’s plans have revealed that the company plans to introduce a free iPad application optimised for the tablet – and it will be out in the next few weeks.

What does it do differently from the Facebook Web site? Well, for one thing, you’ll be able to take advantage of the iPad’s built-in cameras to shoot and upload photos directly on your device. You’ll also get full resolution and full-screen photos and videos. The developers and designers have supposedly overhauled and tailored the app’s design to the iPad’s sensitive touchscreen interface, and it is now in its final testing stages.

Given that it’s been more than a year after the iPad first went on sale, it’s just about damn time Facebook got its own official iPad app. [NYTimes]
