Forget what you know about dollar-store, decorative embroidery and check out what Pennsylvania artist Daniel Kornrumpf did with this form of needlework.

Kornrumpf took a piece of canvas and used needle and thread to create a work that captures the subtle coloring and texture of paintbrush strokes. It’s beyond amazing when you realise all the details in the image above were painstakingly hand-stitched. [Daniel Kornrumpf via Good]
