Draconian Dog Shit DNA Policy Sparks Canine Conflict

Something is rotten in the Village of Abacoa condominiums. There’s dog poop everywhere. Everywhere. So the condo council’s taking the only option: mandating poop and dog DNA matching for every offending specimen, with a $US1000 fine. Lady Liberty weeps.

Some of the condo’s residents are up in arms over the policy, which would require a $US200 DNA testing fee for their pups in case they prove to be poop rule violators: “This is nuts. They will be testing all kinds of poop. Is this America?,” lamented one dweller. But come on – there’s dog shit all over the place, fires back the condo managers: “The smell is disgusting. Residents are embarrassed to have company. Dog crap is everywhere.” And they mean business. Beyond the fine, miscreant dogs will be confiscated. Confiscated. What sort of dystopian condominium is this?

Frankly I’m just surprised that there are places like “PooPrints” that provide specialised shit-to-dog DNA matching in the first place. [Palm Beach Post]

It’s simple. When the culprit is found, they are court-ordered to pay all the other people back for their DNA tests.

(The owner I mean, obviously not the dog. They’re not rolling in cash!)

Sounds good to me. I’m no christian, but I do like the bit about treating others the way you’d like to be treated. It’s just plain inconsiderate to leave your dog’s shite everywhere.
Used to happen with my next door neighbour’s dog coming and dumping on my front lawn until I grabbed a spade and started chucking it over their fence :p they got the message.

I manage Twin Ponds in Nashua. I’ve been using pet DNA for quite some time to catch violators with TREMENDOUS results.
The system is incredibly easy to use and the implentation for both getting the DNA and catching the violators is just as easy. My property has over 250 dogs and counting and our property is clean!!!! The program is extremely affordable for the dog owners. I can even show property owners how to use this system at no cost to them while keeping the fee affordable for the renters. Email me at dogdnatoday@gmail.com and I will glady provide your community with more information.

    This is good.

It’s not hard to clean up your dog’s shit. It’s embarrassing for other owners to see it around – vicarious blame.

    Plus stepping in it sucks.

    Good on them.

aye. people leaving their dog to shit in parks and not cleaning up afterwards is terrible as well. i think they should payup or cleanup and the tenants complaining the loudest would be the worst offenders i bet.

What a f**king waste of time and energy. It would be much cheaper to let everyones dogs shite everywhere they please and employ a full time dog-shite-collector to put all the shite into a compost bin.
