Back in March, Vodafone decided to counter some of the negative publicity it was getting about its network performance by offering free calls to a heap of support services. Today, Telstra has partially followed Voda’s example by offering free calls to LifeLine from any Telstra mobile.
Telstra has also made calls to the support service free from local payphones (although you may need to insert coins to get started), although landline calls are charged as a local call.
Still, it’s great to see another Telco offer calls to services like LifeLine for free.

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 2:43 PMIt wasnt a joke. it was sarcasm at telstras expense. Like I said to Travis – If you were seeking help, you wouldnt be worrying about the cost of the call.
Yes its great that its free but really, its the last thing anyone cares about when you need something like lifeline.

Some people contact Lifeline whilst working or throughout the day as they have support services. There may not be a payphone around and they may only be on Pre-Paid so this is a good move. Thanks for being another jaded cynical individual.

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 1:30 PMSettle down sadsack. I was having a go at telstra for thinking this is a great idea. If someone needs/wants to seek help, the cost of the call is the last thing your going to worry about isnt it??
