Rumour: Apple To Discount iPads By $US200 For Students?

According to BGR’s sources, Apple’s going to announce a new scheme whereby students can grab an iPad for $US200 less, with every new purchase of a Mac. Considering Apple’s already hot on education deals, it wouldn’t be too surprising. [BGR]

I would rather buy $300 worth of nerf guns or something, they are much better toys than the iPad. iPads, and all tablets, are inferior to computers as anything but amusement devices.

A large section of the market only uses computers as an ‘amusement device’ anyway.

It’s a real pity that iPads are useless for any sort of serious use; browsing on the couch and playing Angry Birds sure, great. But try typing lecture notes or an essay; or using annoying proprietary Uni sites that wont render properly, or at all, on an iPad.

    Pass.

Wow! A $200 dollar discount! As long as you’re already spending almost $2000 minimum.
