PlayStation Network Downtime Expected To Last Six Weeks

As last week’s promised date for the PlayStation Network and Qriocity services to go back online passed us by, Sony users must be feeling pretty antsy right about now. It’s not looking good, however, as Sony’s spokesperson told Bloomberg that they now plan to have the services up and running by May 31.

As the services shut down on April 20, that means it would’ve taken Sony a full six weeks to get their shit together.

I mean, I guess it must be difficult moving their network infrastructure and data centre “to a new, more secure location” when they had next to no security previously, but jeepers! May 31?! [Bloomberg]

They can take another week as long as they secure my info properly on there secure, network-architect-overhauled location. Rather let them do a proper job than a 2 week hack job with ductape.

I would actually like to get some information or updates from other online networks i.e facebook, myspace, gmail, xbox live on how they can prevent this type of attack. At least we know/hope that Sony will get a secure network in place after this kick in the butt, but what have others done?

It’s a joke. I for one are getting fed up with Sony.

I’m going to piss myself laughing when PSN goes down after all their network updates are in place.
