Optus Details Samsung Galaxy S II Plans, Offers Pre-Order Deal

title=For those who were disappointed with yesterday’s news of the Galaxy Ace pricing not being Galaxy S II pricing, you’ll be happy to know that Optus now has pricing for the hot new Android phone on its website. Get ready to lock yourself into a two year contract!

The handset will be available for $5 a month on a $59 cap plan or $0 up front on a $79 plan over 24 months. The $79 monthly plan includes 3GB of data and unlimited talk and text to Australian mobiles (except for Pivotel, whoever they are).

The phone is currently up for pre-order, and Optus is promising a desktop charging dock for the first 200 to pre-order the Android smartphone. The dock’s worth $60, so it’s not too bad a bonus for deciding that this is the phone you want for the next two years.

No word on an outright price on the website, but given it’s only free if you pay $79 a month, expect it to be over the $800 mark, if it’s available outright at all.

UPDATE: The phone will cost $899 outright, Optus just confirmed for us.
