Mark over at Kotaku has written an awesome post summing up why the debate over an R18+ for games keeps stalling: because most of the people arguing against it choose to ignore the facts and aren’t actually interested in debating the issue on its merits. Essential reading, even if you’re not a gamer yourself. [Kotaku]

Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 10:44 AMAgree with the article, but he’s preaching to the converted. How about he starts pressuring these game publisher (who astonishingly appear to have agreed to drop the issue), to actually start putting pressure on the government about this. Every industry throws money behind campaigns they feel strongly about, look what happened when they wanted to tax the mining companies, all of a sudden we get a huge public campaign against it, but the video game industry sits by and does nothing. If this is how they want to treat Australian customers then f*** them. I’ll send my money offshore or simply pirate their goods.

Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM+1. Its so easy to pirate, or get games from overseas.
This is only encouraging piracy and people spending their money overseas.

Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 12:36 PMwell the kids will be happy, they can continue to play adult games classified as MA. i am buying all my games overseas now anyway, screw this country and it’s shitty government. all these idiots who think we live in the best country in the world need to wake the f#*k up, or at least go live somewhere else for a stretch to open their eyes.
