Using a stylus with the iPad is pretty silly! But this Wacom Bamboo Stylus might not be. Not only does it have the Wacom name behind it, but the Bamboo Stylus has a tip (6mm) that’s 25 per cent narrower than most other stylii, which should help make the Bamboo Stylus more accurate.
Also! It’s supposed to feel like a high-end pen in terms of weight and finish, which should make the writing and drawing motion feel more natural. Or at least better than using a piece of plastic. The Bamboo stylus also work with other capacitive tablets too and will cost $US30 when it releases in mid-May. [Technolog]

Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 10:18 AMI’ve got a Pogo sketch which works wonders for *only* AUD$18 delivered. However I would prefer a bigger one like this. I also got one for a few buck from a Chinese wholesaler which only works when the pen is completely vertical.

Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 10:47 AMGraphic Designer here who tried using a Pogo for sketching thumbnails. IT SUCKS. IT SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS.
It’s too thin, and the tip is made of that awful foam. Do not use.

Try drawing a square from 4 distinct sides…So vague. It feels like the foam is soaked in rum, cola & Xanax. Wobbles over your iPad like a drink-driver. Not exactly ‘eye-surgeon approved’ manufacturing .
Sheeez..We all know that the iPad lags on pen strokes (who knows why – it’s more powerful than my 7yr old iMac g5 518mb RAM (which does pressure-sensitive Wacom stuff effortlessly). Good thing the iPad does everything else beautifully.

Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 11:24 AMI’ve got a griffin stylus which looks similar to this one although the tip looks slightly smaller on the bamboo. Still wont offer the accuracy or pressure sensitivity of proper wacom digitizers. Htc has the right idea with the flyer tablet, if only they’d release a 10 inch version.
