I hate it when an app that I really want comes out on iPhone, but not on Android. Especially since we’re supposed to be taking over the world. Realestate.com.au took its time bringing out its Android equivalent, but it works well and looks good to boot.
The app by “Australia’s number one property site” features a search tool for both buying and renting, a list or map view for search results, and the ability to get directions to the property using Google Maps. You can even call the agent straight from the app, or send a property listing to a friend via email. It plots out property listings on a map, and you can scroll sideways through photos, though you can’t make them bigger.
I wish it made use of augmented reality, sort of like Commbank’s property app does, and the font doesn’t do good things for my astigmatism. But the app is definitely worth checking out, if only to see what it offers for when you do happen to be looking for somewhere to live.
