That’s a Biblical principle, that’s a historical principle, we have all these quotes from Ben Franklin, and Jefferson and Washington and others on free market and how important that is to maintain. That is part of the reason we have prosperity. This is what the Pilgrims brought in, the Puritans brought in, this is free market mentality. Net Neutrality sounds really good, but it is socialism on the Internet.

Friday, April 22, 2011 at 10:22 PMAnd thank god you’re not a historian, Sam, as you took that quote so far out of context it’s ridiculous. Even from that small portion there, the link isn’t between the 17th Century and Net Neutrality, but the 17th Century and the concepts of socialism.
Not socialism per se, but the concepts of a controlled, government owned market, rather than a free market.
He also rabbits on a bit about how Net Neutrality leads to the redistribution of wealth. That’s a far more interesting argument, and shows his ignorance.
