It’s hard to believe, but Microsoft’s Kinect peripheral for the Xbox 360 is the fastest-selling consumer electronics device of all time, if you’re only counting for 60 days.
Guinness World Records has officially named Kinect for Xbox 360 the fastest selling consumer electronics device, which sold an average of 133,333 units per day for a total of 8 million units in its first 60 days between Nov. 4, 2010 and Jan. 3, 2011
Guinness’s honour is a weird and slightly arbitrary award, to pick 60 days as the benchmark for best-selling consumer electronics device. Why not first day? Why not six months? Or one year?
