IE9 Available To Download 3pm Today

Gizmodo AU

Internet Explorer Fanbois (you know who you are) will be happy to know that the official launch of Microsoft’s 9th version of their popular browser will be officially available to download at 3pm.

With an emphasis on the sites of the web rather than the browser itself and a huge emphasis on HTML5, IE9 looks like a pretty big step forward for Microsoft. They had over 40 million downloads of the beta and reportedly made over 2000 improvements based on beta user feedback.

If you’re not looking for a day one download, the update will hit Windows Update for Windows users over the next 12 weeks, so long as you’re using Vista or Windows 7 – IE9 won’t work on XP machines.

Huh! I’m pretty damn sure I got it last week as a windows update on my W7 HTPC?! Personally I’m not all that bothered as I still develop on XP which it’s not available for.
