Vivid Wireless, the Perth-based wireless internet service provider, has so far expanded limited services to Sydney and Melbourne. But according to CEO Martin Mercer at an LTE trial today in Sydney, the company’s plans to expand to Brisbane, Adelaide and Canberra are due to occur “very shortly”.
Gus at Lifehacker says that the delays in the national rollout have been caused by the recent flooding and subsequent testing issues. While existing 3G solutions are probably more reliable for anyone looking for a mobile internet solution, the fact that Vivid are looking at rolling out an LTE solution could help address that issue, although as Gus notes, there’s no public timetable for that.
