Telstra Bringing Desire S To Australia

Gizmodo AU

Backing up their Xperia Neo announcement yesterday, Telstra has this morning confirmed that they will be the exclusive launch carrier of the Desire S in Australia.

Again, there’s no firm date in place for the phone’s release, just the vague notion of the 1st half of 2011. There’s no mention of the other HTC phones announced overnight, or HTC’s tablet, but that probably just means they aren’t exclusive rather than that they won’t be on NextG…

HTC I like, I have a Desire HD and it’s fantastic – no issue at all and a dream to use.

Telstra however define not caring about their customers.

In my experience they have failed even to set up a home phone line twice (their core business that they have been doing for decades) so I can only imagine what letting them near a mobile network must be like.

It’s a shame – I was looking at this phone as the best option for my girlfriend but it certainly won’t be the best option with Telstra’s prices and service record.
