Navman Now Has A Reversing Camera

Gizmodo AU

As we discovered while working on The GizMod, having a reverse safety camera is a great addition to a car, making reversing easier and safer. But generally you need a pretty solid head unit to start before you can even consider adding one in your car. Navman have changed that with a unit that connects to their $400 MY75T satnav.

For $199, the camera is installed near your rear license plate, then connected to your Navman satnav’s AV port. Shock and weather proof, the camera shows a 170 degree view of your surroundings as you reverse.

As an option for people not wanting to replace their entire head unit, it has potential to really add an extra safety element to any car.

The Navman reversing camera is a Rip Off! It’s only woth about $40, and Navman could still make a handsome profit by selling it at $80 (and they would probably sell a lot more at this price rather then $199).
