It didn’t take long after Apple’s Magic Trackpad was introduced for people to start scooching it up next to its natural mate, the Apple keyboard. Now the good people at Twelve South have come up with a way to keep them together: the MagicWand.
The product is a simple one: a long tube accommodates the round lip shared by both the keyboard and trackpad, and a few other bars lock things into place. Presto chango: two peripherals are now one. I don’t have an iMac, but this still looks like a very desirable way to control a computer! $US30. [Twelve South]

Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 4:47 PMMy keyboard/mouse stance is quite wide and western – so I actually prefer keeping them apart.
Clever kids though, elegant solution – well done.

Friday, February 18, 2011 at 5:07 PMHow pointless. Who the hell wants a trackpad on a desktop anyway? They are annoying enough on laptops.
More Applefail.

Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 12:09 PMWhile this is a useful product, I prefer the all aluminum aTrackt! that is available for about the same price at Kickstarter (http://kck.st/h0aufg). I anticipate using my Apple trackpad much more now that it will no longer wander away from my wireless keyboard.
