Detroit Mayor Shoots Down Idea For Robocop Statue

Detroit may be on the way back from ruin and perdition thanks to Eminem and Chrysler, but Detroit Mayor Dave Bing isn’t above considering good ideas no matter their source.

When one Twitterer suggested Detroit follow Philadelphia by erecting a statue of its most famous movie star, Bing replied with this tweet:

“There are not any plans to erect a statue to Robocop. Thank you for the suggestion.”

He is above actually implementing the ideas, but not above considering them. Which, frankly, is a shame. We’d totally love to see a Robocop statue atop the Renaissance Center. I mean, how cool would that be?
