Queensland, Australia is in the midst of a massive flooding disaster that’s already claimed (at least) eight lives. Now, we’ve got some amazing amateur video of the flooding that shows—in horrifying glory—its full, powerful, car-moving devastation. Watch inside.
AU: I’ve just come back from CES to this. Hoping that all our Queensland readers, friends and family are okay. – NB

Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 4:48 PMWow let the air out if your tires! Why didn’t I think of that? Here I was thinking he was just locking his front hubs to put it in 4wd. Silly me.

Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 6:17 PMWho’re the douchebags who are filming this going “ooh” and “aah” instead of alerting others to move/secure their cars?

Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 8:54 PMThey don’t necessarily know whose cars they are. A lot of people from different places park there.

Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 7:00 PMI would imagine the damn is now full (at 200% capacity)
rendering it effectively useless to stop any further inflow.
in fact even on the days before the toowoomba tidal wave, it was filling up at a rate that would fill it from 0% to 200% max capacity in 2 days! and they were only releasing water at 10% the amount that was flowing into it!
in effect, Brisbane’s great Saviour from another 1974 type event really is only capable of shaving 2 days off the length of time it lasts…

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 3:26 PMBeing a resident of Toowoomba where this event occured, excellent footage taken by those present, but do we really need the Wank Yank trying to get his moment of fame with his stupid, and far from funny comments.
