The Robots That Make Lexar Memory Make Wall-E Look Evil

Gizmodo AU

There’s something wonderfully cute about the robots that make Lexar’s memory chips. Watching them work makes me clucky for a factory robot of my very own!

Of course, the behind the scenes footage is meant to convey some rather interesting information about Lexar memory, like the fact it takes a month to create a memory chip, and every Lexar CF card is put together by hand. There are plenty more interesting facts in the video, so long as you can get past the music.

In the meantime, I’m going to go and watch Wall-E and hope for my own pet robot friend.

Great video. I can’t help feel a little sorry for the humans that work like robots. Surely more of those processes could be automated.

I was especially surprised that there was a human positioning USB connectors for the USB drives!
What an insanely boring job! And surely that needs super-precision?

Anyone noticed that the chorus of the instrumental is almost exactly the same as the chorus of Timbaland’s “If We Ever Meet Again”?
