The Loop is reporting that Apple’s Mac App Store will launch at noon EST (4am AEDT) tomorrow. The January 6 launch date has more or less been confirmed by multiple reports, but Jim Dalrymple has sources telling him that Apple will flip the switch when they begin their work day on the West Coast. The Mac App Store will give OS X users a similar sandbox environment to find and download apps for the operating system. [The Loop]

Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 11:45 AMYes, sadly this is a case where the US writer hadn’t paid an ounce of attention to the already news from December when it was announced… *sigh*

Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 9:46 PMSo are we going to see Mac Apps and Dashboard Apps or are they the same thing? I don’t get it, seems like we are moving backwards. Is it just a better distribution model?
