New Tweak Makes Your Jailbroken iPhone’s App Icons Look 3D

Ah, the endless ingenuity of the jailbreak community. Apocolipse’s forthcoming 3DBoard uses the iPhone 4′s sensors to lend the app icons a 3D effect when the phone is tilted. Hey, that’s one dimension cooler than your home screen.

The tweak will be available in the Cydia app store soon for $US4. [YouTube]

      Not really.. the point of the effect is that the icons move slightly in relation to the background image as you tilt the phone, to create the illusion that the icons are floating above the background. Check the vid between 0:07 – 0:010.. look at the little droplet near the upper left hand side of the “Appstores” icon. as he tilts the phone to the left, the icon nearly obscures the droplet.

    Another overpriced visual effect.

    I wish these developers would be more realistic with their prices instead of trying to make a quick buck.

    If they had any sense at all, they’d start with a lower introductory price to get the tweak out there to people talking and spreading the word.
    After a week or two, raise the price and pick up the profit from the stragglers.

    I guess some people just don’t think smart.

      @Digitalus,
      Why don’t you design your own apps so you can quit complaining about your precious $4…
