Three customers who want to upgrade their phone to the solid performing (and recently Froyo-enabled) HTC Legend take note – the carrier is offering the handset for $288 plus $10 delivery fee to current customers. Bargain!
The catch, of course, is that you can only get the phone on a 12 month or 24 month contract, effectively stretching out your existing contract with Three. Still, if you’ve been stuck on a contract with a less than stellar phone, the Legend’s a pretty good example of what Android can do, despite its slightly slower processor.

Nice phone. Nasty network.

Monday, January 24, 2011 at 3:44 PMWith the advent of dual core processors, the question is why would you want to get something with less than a hummingbird now?

Monday, January 24, 2011 at 6:47 PMYeah I would just get he Wildfire which comes with 2.2 as the Legend only has 2.1, plus it’s on Telstra $299 anyway.

Monday, January 24, 2011 at 9:47 PMLegend is a more powerful better looking handset and if you know how to use a PC it has 2.2 (I just upgraded mine via the HTC website and it performs great with 2.2). The point about 3/VHA stands though, horrible network performance. If you want a cheap phone and can get a Legend without being tied to 3/VHA I’d highly recomend the phone.

Monday, January 24, 2011 at 9:22 PMMyself and my wife have both dropped Three in the last couple of months. Since October last year Three services have both gone down the toilet in suburban areas.
They claim its got nothing to do with the merger but i think they’re lieing.
We both used to have no problems and now we get dropouts, very patchy service, inability to connect to towers after traveling through a dead spot.
