George Lucas Believes The World Will End In 2012

How far would your jaw have dropped if George Lucas told you how he thinks the world will end next year? If you were comedian/actor Seth Rogen, you’d scoop your jaw up and then tell the world all about it.

Rogen remembers:

“He’s going on about the tectonic plates and all the time Spielberg is, like, rolling his eyes, like, ‘My nerdy friend won’t shut up, I’m sorry…’

I first thought he (Lucas) was joking… and then I totally realised he was serious and then I started thinking, ‘If you’re George Lucas and you actually think the world is gonna end in a year, there’s no way you haven’t built a spaceship for yourself… So I asked him… ‘Can I have a seat on it?’

He claimed he didn’t have a spaceship, but there’s no doubt there’s a Millennium Falcon in a garage somewhere with a pilot just waiting to go… It’s gonna be him and Steven Spielberg and I’ll be blown up like the rest of us.”

I call shenanigans. If the world does end next year – and we still have enough time to see a newsflash of George running around like a headless chicken, trying to find John Cusack to fly him to China, then we’ll know Lucas wasn’t really serious when he told Rogen of his beliefs. Makes sense about why he’s releasing the Star Wars Blu Ray series so soon..

If it does end it’ll be God’s retribution for the prequels. Not content with destroying the Star Wars franchise he now wants to destroy the WORLD!!!

I think I threw up in my mouth a little when I read the reference to the 2012 film. I’d rather lick a handrail at Central Station than watch that movie for a second time.

Shenanigans – Rogen’s pulling a fast one. If Lucas really did believe in it, then they wouldn’t have that schedule out for the release of Star Wars in 3D, as that extends beyond 2012.
