Filmmakers, You Can Now Upload Full-Length Films To Vimeo In HD

As of today, Vimeo now allows their Plus users to upload HD videos as big as 5GB (approx 2.5 hours in length). This should appeal to the site’s flourishing independent filmmaker community, and hopefully spawn some awesome content.

As CNET notes, this falls in line with the big push for smart or connected TVs at this year’s CES. And since Vimeo is powered almost entirely by original content, this should make Vimeo all the more attractive when people are searching for good online video. In the past, Vimeo users were only allowed to upload files with a max size of 2GB (about an hour of footage). [Vimeo via CNET]
