Specifically, you’re going to have to shell out $US12,950—about a $US6,000 markup over the original M9—for one of these very limited edition Leicas. Although since each camera sold comes packaged with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3, you could just think of it as a $US1 camera with extremely overpriced software. Saturday, January 1, 2011 at 3:57 AMThere never seems to be a shortage of harping sarcasm regarding the M9 and I suspect the majority of it is coming from those speculating about what they see as an absurd price without ever having owned or possibly not even ever using one.
Seriously into photography since the mid 1960′s and having publishing several thousand images from 35mm, 6x7cm, 4×5 film and now 35mm size digital (Canon 5D II and mainly “L” lenses), I’ll just simply say that the M9 with Leica ASHP or APO lenses produces the best file I’ve ever seen and beats the pants off my 5D II or the drum scans I got from my Pentax 6×7 chromes.
