The Pneumatic Cannon Prank Is Just Brutal

This video shows that, when you work in a laboratory, inoffensive office pranks can turn into brutal weapons of selective destruction and contusion. Like this insane pneumatic cannon.

This is how they say they did it:

These guys – including the victim – have been breathing weird gases for too long. Or maybe the whole thing is a prank on us, and this is a very clever CGI. Either way, I bow to their ingenuity and skill and their weird gas inhalation powers.

Doubt it’s real, but does that really matter?

Fake… why does the wooden stand move? if it was that much air forced at some one to push the back that far…they’d be dead. good prank, good vid work.

    **** FAKE ****

as noted by woodsdog, if that much air pressure was let go to push someone back like that, then the tank should of moved just as much as the person did AKA “Newtons 3rd Law of Motion”.

With the guy getting pushed that quickly into steel lockers he/she would be in serious hurt city (if he actually survived it) and would not be able to stand up without being a paralized for the rest of his life.

No, the tank was strapped down onto several pallets, and undoubtedly weighs a **** ton seeing as it’s got a giant metal pipe attached to it as well as other cylinders.
Newtons 3rd law states “To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction”. The force required to move the whole ‘cannon’ contraption back a few inches could well move something of lesser weight much further. Also, it has a much larger physical footprint than one human (i.e. more friction, harder to move).

However, I do agree that it’s probably fake.

The guy who is on the trigger for the cannon looks to the right when the victim opens the door, and all of a sudden to the victim. His head does not rotate, so there is either a cut in the video or a small mistake when they merged the real scene with the CGI.
Additionally, the raining of the styrofoam at the end looks a little bit artificial – maybe because of the shadows, or the real world camera didn’t match exactly to the CGI rendering. Not sure though.

Has to be fake, there needs to be a valve on the outlet of the vessel to release that much air that quickly.
