Tech Cynicism Has Never Been So Hilarious (Or Sadly True)

Tech is great! Tech makes everything better! Except when it doesn’t, as depicted by the extremely funny, brilliantly sick comics of Andy Rementer. His comic, Techno Tuesdays, paints technology (and those who use it) rather morbidly. But he’s sorta right?

This, for instance, is a not-so-inaccurate rendering of many parties I’ve attended over the past several years. Maybe most of them.

We love this one too. Camera phones bring everyone together!

It’s wildly negative and of course satirical, but the rest of Rementer’s strips do a great job skewering the (at times) overrated role technology plays in our lives, if you’ve got a taste for slightly perverse humour. We sure do! [Techno Tuesday]

Page link just timed out before. Now I’ve tried it again after about an hour and it’s giving a 403 forbidden error.

Looks like some of the comics could be kind of interesting, although I find the first one pretty stupid. Yep, phone batteries can take a while to charge sometimes, but not that long. It only makes some sense if the phone or battery is broken in some way to prevent a full charge, and even then the comment made by the comic is “things break sometimes” which is hardly a revelation, let alone anything to do with technology specifically *shrug*

The irony lies in posting comic strips when the market has little else to talk about.
