Google Maps has been showing traffic performance for Sydney Brisbane and Melbourne for a while now, but now Perth and Adelaide residents can find out how traffic is prevailing in their capital city too.
Powered by the Intelematics SUNA traffic channel, the service is updated every few minutes and shows a colour coded indication of the traffic on a given road. Green means good, yellow means okay and red/black means avoid at all costs. To activate, simply select the traffic button next to the “More” button at the top left of Google Maps. Or buy a GPS with traffic. Your call…

Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 4:12 AMHope desktop is always the first option & later on iPhone..and I think, the increased User base in Australia for Google, especially from those cities would have forced it to get this live traffic! What do you think the reason would be? Whatever, I think this would become one of the best opt-in services from those places and I look forward spreading this service to more cities!

The traffic overlay in Brisbane is Brilliant, but then Brisbane traffic is always predictably awful!
