Google Extending Free Gmail Voice Calls Through 2011

Google initially rolled out free voice calls in Gmail (via Google Voice) as something they would offer through 2010. Now, “in the spirit of holiday giving”, they’ve extended free calling through all of 2011.

Have your USB headset handy, keep your mobile phone overage charges to a minimum, and make other clever uses of free Gmail calling up until 2012. [Official Gmail Blog]

THANK YOU! Not to be ungrateful, however, I had always thought it was forever! I hope you do make it permanent within North America. :) I don’t want to see a bait and switch here. To make it a paid service, I believe the quality would have to be much, much higher than what it is now, instead of all the dropouts.
