Vodafone Infinite Plans Offer Lots Of Talk And Text

Gizmodo AU

While rumours were circulating about Telstra chucking in more data to their $49 cap plan, Vodafone were polishing their new Infinite cap plans for new and renewing Vodafone customers. Starting at $45 a month, they’ll give you unlimited talk and text to any mobile or landline in Australia.

Also included in the Infinite plans are unlimited access to social network sites like Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare (also MySpace, but who still uses that?) The difference between the plans is all in the data – $45 gives you 1GB, $65 has 2GB, the $85 had 3GB and the $100 has 4GB, although you should read the fineprint – there’s an additional $0.25 per MB charge for tethering, and charges for accessing voicemail as well. On the upside, each plan comes with a suitable amount of credit included for things like international calls, and they’re all available on month to month, 12 month and 24 month contracts.

I have to agree COMPLETELY. I live in the Adelaide CBD and my Vodafone coverage is AWESOME. But I have a lot of friends and family in rural areas, and have recently had to do a lot of rural travel for work and I must say…

Vodafone coverage on the 3GS is BALLS. I don’t know if the extra frequencies on the 4 make a difference, but I’ll be going Telstra next, not worth the risk.

Just letting you know, this shows on the home page as ‘sponsored by Telstra’ – I suspect there’s been a mix-up with the next post about Telstra Prepaid?

Telstra currently sponsored our ‘Networks’ category, so all posts related to that subject get tagged with their ‘brought to you by…’

Ah, well there you go. That’s a surprisingly egalitarian attitude from the big T’s marketing guys, so good on ‘em – I’ll support anything that pays the bills…

this is unbeleivable! the cheapest unlimited plans was 99 with virgin and vodafone. im with tpg and got an unlimited for $60 a month but no internet. these guys are doing it for as low as $45! its just nuts! this is the best deal ever!
but i think tpg will try to counter very shortly but how can u resist a new phone too!!!!

I wouldn’t think they’re making much money of this. Good thing they merged with 3 to have a bit more coverage because they certainly won’t make much to re-invest in their infastructure.

Seriously – $.25 per MB for tethering is outrageous!

So if you used 500MB while tethered you would be up for and additional $125 and really only used half of your allocated bandwidth on a $45 plan!?!?

This is a blatant rip off

    Good one Vodafone!!!
