The TSA’s Sense Of Humour Makes Me Nervous

This is a photo of the US Transportation Security Administration’s booth by the security check-in point at Indianapolis International Airport. Take a close look at the wallpaper on the computer in that booth. Nervous yet?

In case you don’t recognise the image in the wallpaper, it’s this fake children’s book cover:

While I’m really glad to see that TSA security personnel has a sense of humour, I really wish it didn’t involve poking fun of my third biggest travel nightmare. [Flickr via Reddit via High Definite]

While I can see the side that is supposed to be funny, I would think that cavity searching children is getting awfully close to pedophilia. If some border security type wanted to cavity search one of my kids there would be hell to pay.

Call me a prude, but there’s something not very funny about a joke involving a cavity search on a 6 year old.

I really don’t understand why there isnt more outrage across America aimed at the TSA.

It may be sick, but i would be entirely unsurprised if there were drug smugglers who did use children to avoid cavity searches

I think it’s more of a case that the security workers in this office are “taking the piss”(making fun) of their own strict and sometimes ridiculous system. Remember that case where a six year old was “flagged” on a no fly list and even after discovering it was a 6yr old with the same name that appeared on the list the TSA would not let the boy fly.
