The iPod Nano Watches To Rule Them All (Trust Me Here)

OK guys! I know we’ve seen a few of these and maybe you’ve decided that the whole iPod Nano watch dream was a silly one to begin with. But please, reserve judgment until you check out the TikTok and LunaTik.

Scott Wilson, founder of Chicago-based design studio MINIMAL, wants to do the iPod Nano watch and he wants to do it right. His proposals: the TikTok and LunaTik, two gorgeous bands that give you a real deal multitouch wristwatch, not just a goofy way to strap your new MP3 player to your arm.

The TikTok is the cheaper of the two models, a plastic band with a snap-in frame inspired by the locking mechanisms in skiboots. The LunaTik is the real real deal, forged out of Aerospace Grade aluminium and CNC machined into an iPod nano-hugging work of art. The straps are made of silicone rubber and the bezel is comprised of two separate that lock together to secure your iPod in place.

Wilson, who was once creative director for watches at Nike, has started a Kickstarter page where people can fund the project. Currently, he’s raised $US3686 of his $US15,000 target, with 29 days left in the funding cycle. A $US25 pledge preorders the TikTok, which will retail for $US35, and a $US50 pledge secures you the Lunatik, which will retail for $US70, so you can save some cash by getting in on the ground floor.
