Infinity Blade Is The Only iPod And iPhone Game I Want Now

Remember Epic Citadel and the “Project Sword” combat demo shown by Epic Games? This is the trailer. It’s official name is Infinity Blade and, if there was any doubt that this thing was going to kick arse, it’s now gone.

The trailer looks as amazing as the demo. The game was developed by Epic’s subsidiary Chair Entertainment using their Unreal Engine 3, and will debut this holiday season for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, supposedly optimised for A4 processors. My credit card is itching as much as my fingers, although perhaps for different reasons. [Thanks Jorge!]

Awesome. With this and whatever John Carmack produces with the Rage engine, iOS remains the dominant platform for mobile gaming by a long shot.

For some reason I fear this will abide by digital distribution’s Murphy’s Law. I’ll be surprised if this game comes out at <$10

The day after you buy this at full price, it'll have a half price sale.

The day after you buy it at half price, it'll be on a free promotion.

    :(

And you wanna know the best thing?! You’ll only get about 5 mins game play cause of the dodge iPhone battery!
On the up side, it’ll be 5 mins of pure bliss by the looks of it!
