Watch This Kiteboarder Break A World Speed Record Between Sharp Rocks

What was the gutsiest thing you did today? Probably not break the world wind-powered speed record by hitting 54 knots on a kite board, like Alex Caizergues did last week. And he did it between two jutting banks of rock.

The last similar record was a mere 50 knots, hit in 2008. But was it set going through that insanely narrow channel of water? We think not! [Scuttlefish]

yeah wow…. I was expecting something diablolical, like ACTUAL jutting rocks. All I see is a nice wide body of water with plenty of space for him to ditch if things go south. Good speed though.

I’m confused by that guy who laid down, got sprayed, then got up again…

@Stew: Did u notice that this is a Kiteboarder who uses flying lines to control the kite? If for some reason(wind gusts or simple steering) the kite gets close to the ground also the flying lines get close to the ground and may injure the guy walking under it. He did the only right thing.
