Inflatable Photo Studio Could Be Mobile Home For Hungry Photogs

I love that the inventor of this inflatable photo studio was so frustrated at rising studio hire prices in New York, that he built his own portable studio for footpath-working – and is now flogging them for $US500 each.

If that doesn’t show this photographer as having a large dosage of creativity and forward-thinking, then I don’t know what else he has to do to prove it. It’s made from light-resistant black plastic, and is available in three different sizes (up to 6m x 3.6m x 3.6m). As it only weighs 18kg, it’s fairly portable – you can certainly sling it in the back of the car, in the 0.6m x 0.6m x 1.2m box it comes in.

Hilariously, the site has an “IMPORTANT” tab, with various caveats listed, including “BE WISE, DON’T DIE”. Apparently it is “not recommended that you smoke, cook, or have any open flames inside the studio.” With a photo lifted from Star Trek of various characters clutching their throats in pain, it also warns you not to “ALLOW ANYONE INSIDE WHILE DEFLATING.” Oh man, they totally read my mind… [IPS via Strobist via Petapixel]
