I Like It On Your Tits

Women have posted surprisingly racy status updates lately. “I like it on the kitchen floor.” “I like it on the couch.” They’re talking about where they keep their purses, a viral campaign for breast cancer awareness. Could men help, too?

In a show of solidarity with these tantalising if ultimately completely annoying messages, I am offering up my own status message for guys – or even just women who don’t carry purses – who want to offer their support.

I would tell you what I am keeping on your tits, ladies, but the mystery is half of this message’s appeal.

Save a tit. Support breast cancer research. [Komen.org]

I’m sorry Gizmodo, it’s stories like this that bring you back down to the pits. There’s no need for the ‘tits’ reference, surely?

There’s no “need” for coloured socks or rock music or art. The unnecessary in life is what gives it colour. But taking your comment more generally – Are you really offended by the “tits” reference or are you offended on behalf of other people?
In the case of the latter.. that’s a bit ridiculous isn’t it?
In the case of the former: is it the shape/sound of the word tit that offends you?.. Would you be similarly offended if you read/heard something about the Long-tailed tit (a small bird)?
If not, is it the mere concept of women’s breasts that offends you? Or is it womens’ breasts in a sexual context that you find offensive? If that’s the case I’d suggest you seek professional help.
Stigmatisation of the human anatomy and it’s functions has probably done more damage to society than a cheeky overt sexual reference ever could.

Having already discussed this at great length with friends, surely we are all aware of breast cancer. I’m all for promoting to donate for the cause and to hold events and raise money, but spamming people on social networks is… well, i’m sick to death of it, it shits me to absolute no end.

Just because you say “hey, i’m talking about breast cancer”, it doesn’t actually help anyone at all. You’re just fooling yourself into thinking you’ve actually helped, when you’ve done absolutely nothing at all.

I actually got in trouble for taking the piss out of this, for viral marketing it’s actually pretty bad because I had no idea what the hell they were on about.
